Experience

Independent

Freelance Software Engineer

2018 — Present

I worked as an independent consultant, helping organisations build software, geospatial workflows and data-driven solutions. My projects ranged from web applications and data engineering to technical training and scientific consulting.

Highlights

  • Built custom software and data pipelines for clients across different industries.
  • Delivered technical training in programming, GIS and data science.
  • Designed geospatial analysis workflows using open-source technologies.
  • Worked directly with clients from requirements gathering through delivery.

Felt

Data Curator

2023 — 2026

At Felt I build collaborative geospatial software, working across engineering, product and developer experience. My work focuses on data ingestion, integrations with external platforms and making complex geospatial workflows accessible to a broad audience.

Highlights

  • Major contributor to Upload Anything, Felt's universal data ingestion system supporting dozens of geospatial formats.
  • Led the development of several product initiatives, from technical design through implementation and launch.
  • Built integrations with external geospatial data providers and developer platforms.
  • Contributed to the public API, Python SDK and QGIS ecosystem.
  • Collaborated closely with product, design and technical marketing teams to launch new platform capabilities.

CARTO

Data Engineer

2017 — 2018

Worked on cloud-native geospatial infrastructure and large-scale spatial data processing.

  • Architect and main developer of the Data Observatory, a catalog of public and third-party data for geospatial enrichment and analysis.
  • Data Science consulting services for large international clients

Geographica

Backend Engineer / Data Scientist

2018 — 2019

  • Backend development for geospatial applications.
  • Spatial data processing and analysis.
  • Machine learning and data science projects.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Visiting Student

2017

  • Research on the geometry and topology of river networks.

GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences

Research Intern

2015

Potsdam, Germany

  • Development of a workflow for automatic water body delineation based on RapidEye satellite time series using ArcGIS and R.
